New Work

I am revisiting a genre after my first showing of paintings inspired by the photography of an early 20th century photographer, Alter Kaczyne. Kaczyne was murdered by the Nazis and most of his work was destroyed. I love his sensitivity to his subject and the humanity of his work. “The Tailor” (TL) and “The Shnorer” (R) are the first two pieces in this series.
“Girl in a Top Hat” is a bit of whimsy, and “Argument at the Well” harkens to more mundane moments in the village.

I appreciate that you have taken a moment to visit my website. The purpose of this site is to share some of my paintings with you. Most of the items shown, and some that I don’t show, are available for purchase. Some of my paintings are displayed at the Alfa Art Gallery in New Brunswick, NJ and at a cooperative gallery sponsored by the Livingston Arts Council. I generally do not make prints or giclees of any of my paintings. If you are interesting in purchasing a piece, you may contact me via email at msfenton@msfenton.com.
